Cashmere fibres come from the cashmere goat- the windy and cold conditions in which it lives means that it has evolved to have one of the softest fibres in the animal kingdom. They are collected by combing the goat's tummy- a painless process that can take up to two weeks. These fibres are traditionally handspun into the finest yarns and then handpsun into the finest textile. The quality of the fabric lies in the fineness of the spinning and weave.
I think everytime we wear cashmere from now on we are going to think about tickling a goats tummy!
