This is pretty much a dream come true for us. Not content doing a dance round the office when we heard the scarves had landed and too excited to sit still, we decided to head straight down there to take some cheeky pictures. We think the sales team suspected we were slightly bonkers until we told them who we were!

Highlights of the collection include our; Cream Ballet and Violet London scarves.

A huge thanks to everyone for making yesterday's Adidas Women's 5k Challenge in London's Hyde Park such a success. Donna (Ida), well done for rounding up so many energetic females to make up our incredible team. Also to Simeon Farrar, thank you for the wonderful T-shirt's you designed. Big thanks to Hoxton Gin who supplied all the post run cocktails, they were a welcome treat!

Having just got back from an epic trip to LA, we're reminiscing on our time there... A mixture of catching up with friends, so much laughing our stomachs ached plus some awesome meetings. We've really fallen for the City of Angels and can totally see why so many lovely British folk we know have moved stateside. Our Californian corker was when Fred Segal, the iconic retailer placed an order on the spot when we met with the buying team. We're a wee bit over excited about seeing our scarves in the LA stores from next week!

Just got home and absolutely shattered after an incredible day shooting the Lily and Lionel SS11 Campaign. Our first edgy high fashion shoot, it was a big day. With most Fashion magazines and blogs focusing on Autumnal styles its hard to remember that we still have a few precious weeks of summer left! And what better way to say your farewells to this typical English summer than by heading down to the annual Notting Hill Carnival this bank holiday weekend. Here's some fashion inspiration influenced by the bright colours and eclectic patterns of the costumes you're bound to see if you manage to make it to the Carnival.

Something else to look forward to this September is Vogue's Fashion's Night Out . According to Vogue's Ella Alexander, 'Following the success of last year's event, Vogue is partnering with even more designers , department stores and high street chains to create a shopping night to remember'. Be sure to go on the website link above to find out which of your favourite designers will be getting involved. Apparently last year Chanel were providing customers with free manicures using the much sort after Jade coloured nail polish!

Yet again this September sees the showcasing of the new Spring/Summer collections of some of the world's finest Fashion Designers. From 17th September the fashion elite will be gathering in London to get the first glimpse of these collections. Here at Lily and Lionel we have been doing our research and are now really looking forward to the Bolongora Trevor's new collection, which may include a new variety of scarves and other accessories, just what we like to hear! Fresh from a train back home last night, we're just shaking the dust off our Converse after an amazing weekend down at The Eden Project, Cornwall. Ok... so this isn't a particularly fashion inspired blog- however we wanted to share this stunning part of the world with you so that's our excuse.

We saw; Mumford and Sons, Calvin Harris, The Doves and various other talented artists including Shlomo the epic british beatboxer.

We ate; Cornish Pasties (of Course).

How gorgeous is The Cross? This uber-chic, one-of-a-kind independant boutique in Holland Park was one of the first stores to ever stock Lily and Lionel. 18 Months on and we're pleased to say they're still selling our scarves well. We may even do a bespoke scarf for the launch of their website in September, watch this space...

The store stocks a mixture of well known and niche labels plus vintage items. A true shopping experience; you walk in to a light and airy space with gorgeous pieces by Goat and Matta then stroll into an adorable childrens section complete with toys. Downstairs is filled with jewellery, clothing and more accessories. Just realised it sounds like we're doing the PR for them but I guess we're simply loyal fans!

We popped in last week to meet Sam, the face behind this infamous shop and couldn't resist taking a few shots of the quirky and delightful interior... It's a complete Aladdin's cave full of unique clothing, accessories and more.

Apologies for not being in touch for a while-it's all been a bit of a whirlwind couple of weeks.

We've been out and about networking and last Thursday trotted along to the Fashion Business Club's interview with Joseph Velosa, CEO of the label Matthew Williamson.

Interviewed by Imran Amed (founder of 'The Business Of Fashion'), Joseph came across charming, bright and most of all real. The interview touched on subjects such as; how they found the best investors , when to take the plunge and get backing plus huge leaps they made as a company when they felt the energy and time was right.

All in all it was an insightful take on how to handle one of the most increasingly successful British fashion labels of the past decade. I felt truly hoonoured to be sitting in the audiende. The really sweet thing was that Matthew (Williamson) was sitting in the front row showing full support to his partner and associate Joseph (they met at Manchester University, Velosa was reading philosophy whilst Williamson was studying fashion).

When asked at the end of the interview what the best piece of advice he could give was, Joseph promptly replied with "Good Luck"!

Ever wondered why artists/musicians and creative types are famous for wearing striped T-shirts? One theory sugegsts that it's all down to the icon and inventor of modern art- Pablo Picasso (photograph above) who sported his throught the 1960's .

Famously painted by Henri Matisse in the 1906 'Self portrait in a striped T-shirt' this classic fashionable item was born. Originally worn by French fishermen in the 19th century, the classic sailors' Breton T-Shirt has been worn by Brigitte Bardot, James Dean, Iggy Pop, Kurt Cobain as well as more recently; Jean-Paul Gautier and Alexa Chung (who funnily enough has been closely linked to Chanel).

Now a classic staple in every wardrobe which may have a lot to do with its stylish wearers Coco Chanel and later Picasso- it is said that the creative association between this nautical T-Shirt and it's wearer was fused.

The question is, how creative do you feel in yours?

It really was a dream shoot- the weather was incredible, models looks HOT photographer was epic, styling was to perfection, hair and make up rocked and most importantly- we all had a fun day out. Just before the long weekend is upon us we thought we'd share in our delight at what we found whilst strolling down Marylebone High Street earlier this week... None other than Llily and Lionel gracing the shop window of Matches!

After we twisted the security guard's arm we managed to take a few cheeky snaps of the mannequins and the inside of the store- Love how they've displayed our scarves on the table and our Nude leather biker jacket looked lovely hanging up (really dark picture so apologies iof you can't quite what the fuss is about!)

How cool is this scarf by French lust label Gardem? This cowl necked creation is covered in grungy charms aplenty.

We spotted it around the neck of Lyn, the lovely buyer from Square boutique in Bath when we met with her last week. Sadly it's 'one of those' that's been lying in her wardrobe for years so alsas, we won't be owning one.

So... here are some more flattering snaps of the gorgeous Joy-the latest addition to our factory in India.

Our lovely scarf manufacturer Karan is the proud owner of this little bundle of fun. As you can see, we were 'trying' to check the production sample of the silk python scarves about to hit the Whistles stores. In the end we had to send the little puppy home as duty calls and although he is incredibly cute, he did spent most of the time trying to eat the scarf!

I don't know about you but we've had one hell of a week... All incredibly positive things but now feeling exhausted from about 55 meetings on design, production, creative marketing ideas and more has left our heads feeling slightly fuzzy to say the least.

What better way to escape the crazyness than dream of this wonderous beach?

We (unfortunately) won't be frequenting this sandy wonderland this weekend but something to dream of none the less.

Bespoke Boobies?

The Boobie scarf just got funnier, it seems there are bespoke versions such as these delighful green and ivy style bundles of joy. STILL don't think it makes these horrors any more convincing to wear but these ladies sure look like they're having a riot all the same!

The search for the strangest scarf on the market continues this week with this skinny little Crime Scene Scarf available from Target stores in the US. A take on the acrylic football scarves, currently available- this little number embodies the same use of naff material and scary colours only with a crime (no pun intended) of a slogan emblazoned across it.

We're not quite sure if it's the garish yellow and black colours or the wording which makes us squeamish...I guess on the plus side you'd never go unnoticed in a crowd.

Just when you think you've seen it all... During the shows at London and New York Fashion week there have been some statement accessories but none quite as shocking as Japan's statement scarf of this year-the Boobie!

Possibly the wierdest and most hilarious thing we've ever seen. Move over Lily and Lionel... we have a new scarf rival in town.

Somehow, I think it's safe to say these won't massively be catching on. Priceless!

Pure fun and games. You've got to love how the ladies are managing to attempt to hit the slopes in their bra's-true girl power at it's best (not to mention the brave/insane topless guy in the first image).

In true signature style, Americal Apparel have sexed up their vision of Apres Ski. Their idea of post skiing wind down time basically translates to bedtime play... Good on them, it certainly looks more fun than a glass of mulled wine!

Epica's SS10 campaign

Back in blighty... Having just returned from an epic journey to South America where we scouted round flea markets, met with potential stockists, shopped till we dropped and generally ate enough steak for 10 people (La Cabrera is by far and away the tastiest).

BA is the ultimate City; an amazing mix of cosmopolitan culture, mouth watering food, great nightlife and the best shopping . The £ is really strong over there so basically for the same money as going to Topshop, you can purchase things of Reiss/Whistles quality.

The choice for women is much better as there are far more boutiques and the designs tend to be slightly more individual than the collections in men's stores.

The quirkiest area is Palermo. Full of local designers' boutiques brimming with pieces that can't be found elsewhere. Not only are the clothes and accessories gorgeous but the layout of the stores are impeccable and wondering around the cobbled streets in the sunshine, stumbling upon various boutiques is shopping heaven. The best streets are El Salvador and Honduras which are in Palermo Viejo.

When your feet are tired (I wouldn't advise wearing Havaianas, not the best walking shoes!) and you need an injection of caffine, stop off in one of the cafe's in Plaza Cortazar for an expresso and a bit of people watching.

Amor Latino- Seductive vintage style underwear.

Phil Greene-It's a menswear store but upstairs they have the most amazing hidden gem of a vintage store with loads of cute hats, scarves and tea dresses.

The hot new Thomas Cook advert, featuring the gorgeous Louise and jamie Redknapp has just come out on TV. Check out Louise wearing our Carnival Scarf.

Given granted you could almost blink and miss it but if you look closely at the beginning and end of the ad where they are on the plane, Louise is sporting it with pride.

Scarves are perfect travelling as demonstrated here... Having just come back from South America this exact scarf accompanied me on the aeroplan. I have to admit I cozied up with it as a blanket and probably didn't look quite as glamorous asMs Redknapp does!

At the Christmas Lights switch on in London's west end The Noisettes performed. Whilst listening to them we couldn't help but also notice Shingai Shoniwa's outfit.

Don't know about you but we are LOVING the way Katie Holmes is haphazardly wearing her scarf!

Photographed here in a cute yellow and green number, we're not only cooing over the gorgeous Suri but also over how the lovely Ms Holmes/Cruise has tied her scarf.

How fab are these Lily and Lionel printed baubles?

Created for us by the lovely Jennifer Kwan-they have livened up our website no end and make us feel all Christmassy.

We have selected our favourite prints such as Carnival Scarf, London Scarf and Black/White Aztec and transferred them onto these dinky little decorations.

We don't normally get all gooey eyed at this time of year, yet we're slowly falling for these baubles and almost wish we could bring them to life and put them on a tree!

This was the first show we went to see at LFW and it was by far the best, who ever said you have to save the best till last is wrong in this case!

Shades of electric blue, peach, beige, coral and grey made this colelction so wearable yet aspirational. Mattijs designs clothes that women long to wear.

The shapes were both fluid and structured, accessorised with beautiful metallic copper and gold oversized necklaces and waist clinching belts.

Our favourite piece has to be the stunning metallic grey mac- we are putting our orders in now... form an orderly queue ladies.

Last night, whist at the 'A Child of the Jago' Fashion show in London's East end I bumped into the icon that is Vivienne Westwood.

Since the show was actually for her son Ben Westwood's new menswear line she spoke for a few minutes at the start on Climate Change, how it's affecting all of us as well as how we can all help to save our beautiful Rainforest.

Not only is she a wonderous talent and icon in the fashion industry but spends most of her time focussing the causes she stands for so strongly. Ms Westwood, you are a true legend!

Cashmere fibres come from the cashmere goat- the windy and cold conditions in which it lives means that it has evolved to have one of the softest fibres in the animal kingdom. They are collected by combing the goat's tummy- a painless process that can take up to two weeks.

These fibres are traditionally handspun into the finest yarns and then handpsun into the finest textile. The quality of the fabric lies in the fineness of the spinning and weave.

I think everytime we wear cashmere from now on we are going to think about tickling a goats tummy!

Last weekend we took to the streets of the Benicassim music festival in search of some original street style. Beneath the crowds rocking it out to The Killers, we spotted some great summer looks.

We were dazzled by outfits and accessories from the likes of Topshop, Marc Jacobs, Pinko and Luella.

Our favourite? This vintage tasseled kaftan worn by Gemma-especially loving how she works the mixed gladiator sandals and Havaina flip flops. Our verdict- a statement style all of her own!
